San Quirico d’Orcia is a picturesque town located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, within the province of Siena. It is part of the Val d’Orcia, a region renowned for its stunning landscapes, medieval towns, and historic sites. Here are some highlights to introduce you to this charming town. San Quirico d’Orcia has a rich history dating back to the Etruscan period. It gained prominence in the Middle Ages as a stop along the Via Francigena, an important pilgrimage route from Canterbury to Rome. I enjoy combining sightseeing, running, and hiking when I travel around Italy. This trip took place from May 4th to 11th. Although I arrived on Saturday, I had Monday off because it was a bank holiday back home in Ireland.
